Vail Wood Products was founded in 2024 by Brady Vail in Butler, Indiana. Brady didn't come to sawmilling cold — he spent nearly a decade working in the lumber industry, running tree service, and serving as a firefighter before launching his own mill.
That background gives Vail Wood Products something most mills don't have: an operator who understands wood from the moment it comes down in a storm to the moment it leaves the mill as a finished slab or timber. He knows how wood moves, how it dries, and what your project actually needs.
The mill runs a Wood-Mizer LX250 — a 38 HP gas-powered bandsaw mill capable of handling logs up to 55 inches in diameter with a 55-23/32" maximum width of cut. Paired with a solar kiln that holds 2,000–2,400 board feet, it's a complete operation capable of taking a log from green to kiln-dried and ready for your shop.

Fast Turnaround
Same-day cuts available for simple jobs. We work hard to turn orders fast because we know your project timeline matters.
7 Days a Week
The mill doesn't take weekends off. Call between 6AM and 6PM any day to discuss your project or schedule a pickup.
Proper Drying
Our solar kiln dries lumber to 7–8% MC for interior use and 12–15% for exterior. Kiln-dried wood is stable wood. We don't skip this step.
